The monkey is an animal
about which there’s much fuss,
and the reason’s rather obvious –
they’re quite a lot like us.

Of course we’re not so hairy
and we don’t swing round in trees,
but of all the wide world’s creatures
we’re most of all like these.

Doctor Darwin’s theory
of evolution is debated,
but it seems to be quite clear to me
to see that we’re related!
